Mothers Day is a celebration of the women in our lives. This day was not created by a brainstorm session at a well-known greeting card company. The idea for Mother's day has many origins throughout history. In the United States, Mothers Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May each year. Sunday is typically the day that Americans attend a worship service and therefore it is fitting to look at the link between what the Bible, proverbs and inspirational quotes have to say about mothers.

On many occasions in the Bible, the writer speaks of the blessings that we have within our mothers. The Bible describes the comfort, roles of and our duty to praise our mothers for their work and dedication to our families. Mothers Day isn't just a ploy for you to spend more money at that local card shop, and it wasn't designed by their executives. However, it is an important holiday for us to reflect about our mothers and the love that they have for us. Reflecting upon the great examples of mothers within the Bible is a great way to do this.
